The Braided Rug Co database was created in 2002 and has been used almost daily since then to maintain the business' client records, set up orders, produce the necessary stationery (invoices, envelopes, mailing labels, etc) and keep track of enquiry sources in order to maximise advertising efficiency.

Total or selective mailshots can be produced at the click of a button and reports produced to show a variety of analytical information.

The data tables which hold information such as product details, prices, postage and delivery costs, advertising publications and client sources are set up so they can be easily modified by the user as necessary.

Both clients requested multi-purpose databases with the ability to set up and manage a customer record set and hotel room booking arrangements.

With a high number of staff using the system in both establishments, it was essential that it was simple to operate and easy to train new staff up to use. It was also important that it was as well-protected as possible from incorrect data being input and existing data being compromised.

The databases were set up in 1999 and 2001 respectively and are still being used today.
